Thanks. I know.
But for this I have to use mqtt.
Right now I use websocket api. All I need is
for intent-handling
/api/events/intent
for answering:
/api/text-to-speech
I used mqtt with snips, but till now I think these two api commands are more comfortable.
Maybee β¦
2.5 also includes /api/mqtt for the websocket API, which lets you subscribe/publish MQTT messages through websocket!
I got a Jabra here from my works home office equipment. I used it to record my snowboy wakeword and results are so much better than in the first try.
I will experiment using the Jabra as phone / speaker for rhasspy and if it is much better than the 2mic hat, I will search for used ones. Better spend some money one time than being frustrated all the time. Sure it is working with the hats but it could be better
Regarding performance, the Pi 0 is working well since I use the personal hotword.
Edit: Meh, even used Jabras seem to be quite expensive in germany. On eBay, the best offer is one from belgium for 29,99EUR, but only with a stock photo. Suspicious
All other are far above 50EUR and I need at least three. So I will keep the eyes open and use what I have until I get a good deal.
I had originally thought to use Pi Zero W (I have a handful of them) as satellite/client Rhasspy machines, with the Intel NUC i3 hosting the Rhasspy server along with Home Assistant. Since the Pi4 came out, I very much like that the βclientβ platform is powerful enough to do everything except for the Home Assistant parts. Raspbian Buster runs very well with 2GB of RAM, and Rhasspy responses are almost instantaneous, compared to the RPi3B+ where a second or two would elapse.
@HorizonKane Used JabraSpeak units are selling for a premium (65-to-80 USD) in the US, as well.
But the combination of RPi4 and JabraSpeak 410 is unbeatable, in my humble opinion.
